Shrine Decoration
The Dzogchen Beara Temple shrine is based on the main shrine in the Lerab Ling Temple, and the Berlin and Paris Rigpa Centres.
The shrine substrate was built with blocks and a concrete plinth poured on top of steel, to bear the weight of the three statues that are enshrined on it.
The shrine is sheeted with beautiful Irish cherry wood. The two tall cabinets will house the Kangyur and Tengyur, which are the Words of the Buddha and the commentaries of the Masters on those words.
To decorate the shrine itself, the team have been casting plaster decorations from silicone moulds.
As each one is cured and made ready for installation, the team will then fix these pieces on to the shrine. All the pieces will be filled in, to make it all look seamless.
This will then allow the team to paint and apply shellac to them. All the decoration will then be gold leafed.
This shrine will have 24 linear metres of the lotus decoration, along with three double vajras, and many snow-lions, peacocks and many other decorative elements that make up such a shrine.
You can now sponsor these decorations, which includes the sponsoring the material, the labour and all the painting and gold leafing.
